New Product Design: Prototype

Studentboard is creating a comprehensive platform to build, sell, and teach courses, and collaborate globally. The student(s) will research and develop a prototype, focusing on various products. We believe this project will require: Researching existing products and functions (simple, easy to use, minimizing clicks and pages). Developing a prototype of a recommended product design by completing UX and UI work. Figma will be the main prototyping tool used due to easy accessibility and collaboration ability. The final deliverables include: A prototype of the recommended design for a product. As the platform will have many moving parts, we will work with the student(s) in week one and two to identify a project outline based on contract length and time commitment. Potential products fall under five main modules including the following: Instructor and institution user profile: includes introduction page, course builder, enrolment management, and teaching tools Student profile: introduction profile (to add skills, education, interests etc.), and a place to enrol in and pay for courses, and learn. Landing page and Marketplace: Students search for courses, institutions, or instructors using basic search bar, filtering, and finding promoting courses. Peer to peer collaboration tool Four modules will be broken down into sub-tools that each student team will focus on based on student availability. Prototyping may occur on Figma or any other chosen software the student/team is interested in using. Studentboard Inc. will pay for appropriate tools required. Level up provides a $1400 stipend to each student: Studentboard seeks students interested in working 60-70 core hours (approximately $20-$23 per hour) with additional hours dedicated to mentorship and team networking. Work will occur on a part time basis and is flexible based on the student's schedule. One to two meetings (maximum of 2-4 hours total per week) will need to be attended for mentorship, team check-ins, and reporting on work progress (included within the 80 hours max). Slack and Zoom will be used to communicate, casual work attire, and students may be located anywhere in Canada (remote work)!

This has proven to be both lucrative and rewarding. We are involved in a new project now, a concierge/a-la-carte service to independent seniors in their apartments/homes. As a company, we also have multiple other ideas and strategies to make ourselves successful with the goal of using that success to circle back around and provide the type of palliative and hospice care to Canadians that we originally built our dream upon. We are federally incorporated and registered here in Alberta and one day hope that Manchester Rose will be THE company to reach out to when aging in place and peaceful transitions are the goal. With multiple pivots and new ideas, our marketing and sales are somewhat blurred and we need assistance to get things back into focus. We require plans and strategies to reach our population, while also considering who can and will pay for our services. As a family company, focused on senior care, we do ultimately want to reach all seniors regardless of station in life, or ability to pay. However, that is something that we financially have to aspire to and will take some time, and is also something that we plan to continue to work with politicians and other key people to facilitate through policy and funding changes. You are creating a menu of visual ideas and samples that helps a business select what they want to see on their own website when they commission us to develop it. The design elements should also educate the site visitors on best practices, for example: 1. Where a logo can be positioned on a site (square rectangular or vertical logo advantages and disadvantages of size and shape) 2. Menu navigation layout options (vertical menu, horizontal menu, breadcrumb menu, etc. mobile responsive options, etc.), 3. Samples of video layout options, how the home page can be displayed with different sections, parelex image scrolls, call to action positioning, etc. 4. Demonstrate how how inner pages can be laid out for blog pages, team pages, etc..., 5. Explain through research, and in written content format, the pros and cons of each design option element. The design layout is subject to your research and interpretation of best visual design options for different page types targeted to commercial businesses, and the samples will help a customer view and see what they like and don't like, and will help them choose what they want on their website, if they sign on with us as their website development supplier. We would like to work with a group of students to research, and develop the visuals concepts for us, and think about how these visual samples can be displayed and presented in the build of the website. Students should be prepared to list their designs being provided by priority order. Research Scheduling and CRM Systems

We would like to partner with a student to review our current scheduling and customer retention management systems and make recommendations as to how we can streamline the digital environment of our business. We currently are using acuity with is an add on with Squarespace and integrates nicely but is not perfect for the user experience. We use excel files and constant contact to keep track of and communicate with our customers. There are many systems that could help us to streamline this process. We would like a student team to do some research and see if there is a system that can do in one place what we currently in about 5 places. Our hope is that it would also benefit our data analytics and improve customer service and save us time and money. The right student or students should be interested in data analysis, user experience, company culture and increasing profitability and partner satisfaction. As we grow and prepare to launch more courses and programming and eventually get back to in-person delivery we want to be ready with the right scheduling and customer service/retention applications that we can find.
