Hidden Gems – A UX/UI Case Study

• Collaborated with a team to design “Hidden Gems,” an app that enables like-minded tourists and locals to meaningfully connect and experience a destination’s hidden gem together.
• Applied design thinking methodology to ensure that empathy and user-centric problem-solving were at the forefront of our research.
• Conducted competitive analysis to identify competitor gaps and opportunities.
• Designed screening and interview questions and facilitated user interviews with 12 participants, gathering insightful qualitative and quantitative data to inform our research.
• Developed a user persona and user journey maps to highlight key user needs, motivations, goals, and pain points, to define our project scope and direction.
• Created low-fidelity wireframes, mid-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes on Figma to visualize our app's user interface.
• Conducted usability testing with 9 participants and iterated design based on feedback to enhance the app’s usability.

Coffee Shop Information Architecture & Website Design

• Designed a structured information architecture and wireframes for a hypothetical coffee shop website.
• Conducted background research and competitive analysis to understand common information architecture patterns to inform research and develop a design concept.
• Conducted a card sort on UXtweak with 5 participants to understand how users understood and organized my proposed website navigation structure for the coffee shop.
• Changed my proposed navigation structure based on card sort results to ensure that it was more intuitive and aligned better with users’ mental models.
• Developed a website schematic to showcase the structure of the proposed website to my hypothetical client.
• Created two mid-fidelity wireframes for the product list page, with the second wireframe depicting an alternative layout structure to provide design variety and offer the hypothetical client another option.

• Conducted a content inventory and audit for an online antique store called Green’s Antiques, using Screaming Frog SEO Spider website crawler.
• Carefully analyzed the data obtained from the content inventory and audit to highlight key issues regarding the website’s SEO and information architecture.
• Provided actionable recommendations organized in order of priority to address the key issues found, thus enhancing the website’s usability and increasing user engagement.
• SEO-related recommendations included fixing the broken search engine and hamburger menu button.
• Information architecture suggestions included restructuring the website’s organization to improve coherence and navigation, supported by the results of a card sort test I conducted with 7 participants on Useberry.
