This Fall, students enrolled in the Post Baccalaureate Program in Business Management at CBU will embark on a course that seamlessly blends academic theory with practical experience. Over the past 1.5 years, these students from diverse professional backgrounds have already completed courses in Marketing, Strategic Management, Accounting, Human Resources, and Finance, bringing a wealth of insights into this program. Throughout their studies, learners have honed critical skills, including critical thinking, real-time decision-making, strategic thinking, collaboration, teamwork, problem-solving, effective communication, project management, adaptability, and professional business acumen. The primary objective of this course is to offer a hands-on learning experience, enabling students to apply their knowledge to real-world business scenarios. By working on a project that tackles current business challenges, students will further develop their ability to think critically, make informed decisions, and collaborate effectively. This experiential approach is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, equipping students with the tools needed to thrive in the business world.

This Capstone Project provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate competency on the key concepts of business analytics. Students will integrate knowledge gained throughout the program - including leadership and management principals, analytical skills, data visualization, data mining, and statistics – to complete the capstone project. By taking this course, students will be guided through the process of developing their soft (communications) and hard (Technical) skills while delivering a business analytics project to support decision making in organizations. Cambrian College's Computer Programming - Internet of Things program offers first-year learners the opportunity to engage in practical, hands-on projects that enhance their technical and employability skills. Students will collaborate in teams to design and implement IoT systems, gaining valuable experience in project management, data analysis, and testing. Through this course, learners aim to build a comprehensive understanding of integrating hardware, software, and communications in real-world applications. As an employer, your role is crucial. We expect you to maintain regular communication with the learners, provide essential guidance and information, and participate virtually in the final presentation. Your constructive feedback will help shape the learning experience, ensuring that students receive professional insights as they navigate their projects on the Riipen platform.

My learners are equipped to tackle projects in machine learning and statistical learning, having gained proficiency in Python and R. They have engaged with several hands-on courses covering machine learning, statistical data analysis, SQL and database management, Tableau dashboard creation, data engineering, and big data. I am seeking internship projects that will help them apply their skills as part of their data science master’s program. Please note that learners will register for their internship between May and August 2025. If you wish to start working with them during this period, it would be ideal.

Do you have a programming or GUI challenge you would like to tackle? In this project, students working in teams will use object-oriented approaches to solve Graphical User Interface (GUI) problems. Topics include object-oriented concepts including inheritance, polymorphism, exception handling, graphics and GUI design techniques. Types of projects that students can work on: Projects that require Object-Oriented and Java programming components.
