Optimizing Dietary Solutions with H.A.P Biotechnology

The project aims to leverage EGIPH's innovative H.A.P biotechnology to address pressing dietary shortcomings in modern nutrition. H.A.P, a cutting-edge metabolomic methodology, offers unique capabilities to enhance and improve food properties that are otherwise unattainable. The primary goal is to identify and prioritize the most impactful dietary goals that can be achieved using H.A.P. This involves a comprehensive analysis of current nutritional deficiencies and potential enhancements that H.A.P can facilitate. The project will focus on understanding how H.A.P can be applied to improve nutritional value, taste, and sustainability of food products. By dissecting real-world dietary challenges, the project seeks to provide actionable insights into how biotechnology can transform food consumption and health outcomes.

Generate Market Research on Pharmaceuticals and Medicine Accessibility

The student will be expected to generate detailed, high-quality, market research on the current state of the pharmaceutical industry. There will be a focus on orphan drugs, unaffordable medicines, and crucial currently inaccessible medicines. We are a startup aiming to create a new, low-cost complementary method to synthesize lifesaving medicines. The prospective student would be expected to provide market research on the pharmaceutical markets so that we can understand the needs of the markets and where to focus our efforts, as well as to use the market research in presentations and information for investors.

HPLC Setup

The main goal of the project is to calibrate an HPLC (high-pressure liquid chromatograph) device so that it becomes prepared for a 2-year long research project. "Calibration" is a term normally used in science to describe an experiment for which the expected results are known in advance. To clarify, the project we are offering here involves only the calibration - it does not include the two years of research that come after the calibration. Our company has recently acquired an HPLC (high-pressure liquid chromatograph) from Agilent Technologies. This device can separate and identify the various materials or compounds in a tissue sample from, say, an experimental plant (like a celery plant grown in the lab). We are looking for a student to help us with the setup and calibration of this device. Ultimately, the project goal is to find out how different plants react to various synthetic chemicals - but the first step to doing that is to calibrate the HPLC device.

Help Build an Online Community

Students will be tasked with growing the online community of our company's flagship project "HAP". This project aims to generate new methods to create synthetic medicines via natural (non-GMO) plants. We want to create a community as a source for ideas and resources for creating these medicines. There will be pre-outlined roles in the community that users can play. For a full overview of our community model, visit the link on our website: https://hap.bio/hap-culture/. The student will be responsible for doing outreach and advertising to attract people who are interested in HAP's goals and can contribute as one of the roles outlined on the website. This includes creating visualizations that can be shared on social media to raise awareness and intrigue about the project.

Project feedback
This project was a valuable learning experience that allowed me to apply both my creativity and critical thinking skills. One of my biggest accomplishments was successfully completing the core objectives of the project while also contributing meaningfully to the overall vision. I was able to stay organized, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively, which made the process smoother and more enjoyable. Working with the company was an especially rewarding part of the experience. I appreciated the opportunity to engage with professionals in the field, gain insights into how real-world projects are managed, and better understand industry expectations. The company's support, feedback, and openness to our ideas created a positive environment where I felt encouraged to contribute and learn. It was clear they valued our input, and that made the work feel meaningful and collaborative. Most importantly, I learned a lot from this experienceโ€”not just about the subject matter itself, but also about how to work more efficiently, communicate ideas clearly, and trust the process. Iโ€™m proud of what I contributed and feel more confident taking on similar projects in the future.
