This project gives a hands-on opportunity to work as a research assistant in a real-life scenario. I enjoyed working with HOUSE Canada. After the project, I would still keep my eyes on the progress and see it completed soon.

I really appreciated the opportunity to be involved in this project. The project plan provided at the beginning was clear and very helpful in understanding our goals and responsibilities. The data analysis meeting, where we were shown how to use Excel for regressive analysis and guided through the process step-by-step, was especially valuable. It gave me the confidence to apply those methods on my own and really helped strengthen my analytical skills. Everyone on the team was incredibly kind and supportive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. One suggestion I’d offer is to allocate a bit more time for the data analysis portion. We had about a week to complete it, and while we were able to meet the deadline, it felt a little rushed toward the end. Having a few extra days would have allowed for deeper exploration and refinement of the results. Overall, it was a rewarding and educational experience, and I’m grateful to have contributed.

Working with HOUSE Canada was such a great experience! I learned a lot about the student housing landscape in Mississauga and really appreciated how flexible they were with our schedules. Their communication was excellent, and the team was always around to answer questions or give feedback.

I had a great time in my Advance Ontario experience working with HOUSE Canada! I had the chance to cultivate many different skills because I worked on in-person data collection, report writing, designing and marketing. I was worried about how the experience would go and whether I would get along with my team, but I was worried for nothing because I bonded with the team super well. This experience will be something I will never forget, and I am forever grateful for these new friends and experiences I'll take to my future career!

The team was a truly wonderful one and I had a great time working with them. I was provided the support I needed in all steps of the project and felt I could ask for help at any time. I had an amazing time working on this project!

Working with HOUSE Canada was an extremely positive experience. The organization demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting student researchers by offering flexibility around academic workloads and ensuring an inclusive and collaborative environment. I felt heard and valued throughout the process, which made it easier to contribute meaningfully and take ownership of my work. This opportunity allowed me to learn about student housing challenges and policymaking processes. I developed skills in policy analysis, learned how to identify gaps in municipal housing regulations, and contributed to writing a report outline with recommendations. These experiences have not only strengthened my research and writing skills but also solidified my interest in pursuing a career in public health policy. Additionally, I appreciated the open communication within the team. I learned the importance of daily check-ins, asking for help when needed, and offering support to others. Engaging with such a passionate group of peers reminded me of the impact that can be made through collective effort and shared goals. Overall, I’m grateful for the mentorship and learning opportunities HOUSE Canada provided!

My experience working with HOUSE Canada was truly incredible. The project was engaging, well-organized, and provided a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment. I gained valuable skills in communication, teamwork, and project execution, all while feeling supported and appreciated. After working with this organization, I still think there is room for improvement. I am fairly new to the team, and I see how the work environment is productive. The workload is definitely manageable. Communication amongst peers is great.
