addiction recovery marketing sales innovationPROJECT DESCRIPTION/DESCRIPTION DU PROJET:
I founded this company in order to provide valuable and effective and easily accessible online addiction prevention and treatment programs to individuals, families and communities. We have 2 programs that will be ready to market by mid-September.
One is an addiction prevention program called "Street Talk". It is a short 6 hour video course that youth can take (or their parents can sign them up for it). 20 years ago, I started taking youth through various neighborhoods where there was a high concentration of homeless, drug-addicted people and so that the youth could talk to them and get a powerful reality check about the dangers of addiction. We made videos of many of these interactions and this is what the youth will see when they take the program. It is a hard hitting, powerful reality check about the need to make healthy choices as a teenager.
The second program is called Getting It Straight and it is a 20 week 2nd stage addiction recovery program for adults who already have achieved sobriety but have some additional work to do regarding becoming healthier psychologically and emotionally.
Both of these programs are very unique and as far as we know no one else has anything compatible. Both addiction prevention and 2nd stage addiction treatment are 2 areas that are seriously neglected despite the fact that the is a very big and pressing need for such programs. Our company is on the leading edge of providing new, innovative and effective programs to address one of the most devastating and costly issues (in terms of money and lives lost) that our society faces. The need for these types of programs are even more pressing due to the opioid crisis that has been raging for the last 6 years.
In our initial 3 month marketing push that we conducted for the Street Talk program our sales exceeding all expectations and we have taken the summer to rebrand and improve the website which should make the program even more attractive.
While there are many different market segments that we want to target, the customers that the Junior Marketing Associate will be promoting our programs to are Indigenous communities across North America. They represent a seriously underserved segment of the population for whom addiction has had devastating impact on. The main responsibility in this position is to make contact with Indigenous communities and organizations and inform them of our programs and then follow up with promising leads in order to drive sales.
As part of our team you will be making a positive difference in the lives of potentially thousands of people and making a significant contribution to addressing a serious social issue that kills tens of thousands of people every year.
