About the company
OneTeamMVMT is a non-profit organization (NPO) that creates opportunities for youth development and lifelong engagement in sport, through opportunities which promote athleticism, artistry, and inclusivity β such as the team discipline of synchronized skating. Synchronized skating is a co-ed sport which is comprised of 90% females, and provides an outlet for individuals to stay engaged in sport for life. This sport plays an important role in keeping females engaged in healthy, active living, by providing access to a team activity that combines artistry and athleticism. Female-dominant sports are particularly in need of support; according to Canadian Women and Sport, 1-in-3 females leave sport by their late teens, compared to 1-in-10 males. According to CAAWS, if a girl isnβt participating in sport by the age of 10 there is only a 10% chance of them being physically active at age 25.
Our NPO successfully proliferates the sport of synchronized skating through our year-round initiatives.
